How To Get Long Eyelashes Naturally

Thursday, January 6th, 2011

How to get long eyelashes naturally rather depends on how you define “naturally”. Here, we are going to define it as being able to grow your own eyelashes so that they become longer, thicker and better conditioned.

Science has been kind to us of late, and if we are born with short, stubby and thin lashes, have suffered an accident or have lost eyelashes because of illness or medications, eyelash growth products have been developed that can be used to improve the condition and volume of your eyelashes. This is a good thing, as not all of us want to stick on false eyelashes, have eyelash implants or extensions. Although you can get ‘natural’ false eyelashes if you buy the mink hair ones, these do not appeal to everyone.

So, on to how to get long eyelashes naturally. The easiest way is to use eyelash growth products. Now, these are not completely natural in the true sense of the word although they do contain substances such as wheat germ, kelp, chamomile and nettle. However, they do also contain some of those things you can’t pronounce such as Phenoxyethanol (used to kill bacteria and stabilize the formulation), so what price beauty! Now Phenoxyethanol is an organic compound, but a number of cosmetic manufacturers buy in a cheaper synthetic for their products. Without wishing to spread any concern about any possible dangers of using these products as the majority, it is wise to read any small print. The majority of products you can buy have been cleared as safe to use by various governing bodies in different countries. But if you do feel really strongly about this type of thing as many do, I am sure you will avoid them anyway.

Eyelash growth products work by the application of a serum to the base of the eyelashes (both upper and lower if required) at least once a day, sometimes twice depending on the individual product you choose. This is usually done at night after gently removing all traces of makeup. It takes around 2 to 4 weeks to see a difference and you should notice the lashes are thicker, longer and in a better condition. Look for a product that has information of clinical trials so you know it actually works. A word of note, to maintain those thick lashes you will need to continue to use your eyelash grower product. Missing the odd day will not make much difference, but in general it is logically to assume you need to keep using it.

Prices for an eyelash grower serum vary considerably, but usually you don’t need the most expensive and the cheapest may not be best, choose a middle priced one. Around $40 should see you through 2-3 months if used correctly so the cost isn’t that prohibitive.

How to get long eyelashes naturally can be as simple as it sounds, check the product ingredients out for yourself and then decide whether you want to use an eyelash grower serum, stick with what you have, or perhaps use false eyelashes.

MaximumLash Eyelash Conditioner

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

We are including MaximumLash Eyelash Conditioner, here as we have seen some positive reviews of this on one of our other articles. We don’t have any personal experience of this, but have done a little research and below you will find what we have found on this particular eyelash growth product.

To be honest, it is quite similar to our favourites, IdolLash and LiLash. You apply one brush stroke of the serum once nightly after removing makeup and within about four weeks you should see some results. As with the others it contains vitamins to peptides to improve the condition of your eyelashes.

Reviews indicate that it to works well. Coming in at just below $50 it is competitively priced with the other popular and proven eyelash grower serums. A container should last you about 3 months so MaximumLash seems like a reasonable deal. As a point of reference, LiLash will last about six months a tube and cost you around $130.

Best Mascara For Short Lashes

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

Just what is the best mascara for short lashes? Most mascaras these days darken, lengthen and volumize to some extent, but you need not pay the earth for a good one. If you are looking for the best mascara for short lashes we would recommend Claudia Stevens Lash Fix Lash Lengthener. May not be the best at volumizing, but is a lash lengthener and at only $4.95 certainly worth a try. The RevitaLash Mascara is also certainly worth trying although it is around $15.

However, there are other options given the them of this site this may not surprise you! Eyelash grower serums are on the up and will effectively thicken and lengthen short lashes. As an added advantage, these serums also condition your lashes and will darken them slightly as well. This is really handy if you have pale lashes and will improve the appearance of your eyes without makeup as well. Idol Lash is very popular today and is available in most countries, usually with a “try me” offer that just involves postage. Do remember though that you must remind yourself that if you don’t like it, you will need to cancel the subscription or you will get more!

If you just want to buy the “usual” way, Revitalash conditioning serum is popular or the RevitaLash Mascara.  Alternatively, just stick with the best mascara for short lashes you can find, but do make sure you remove it gently with the recommended remover. Pulling and tugging at them will just make your eyelashes fall out and make the problem worse so do be careful. Don’t sleep in your eye makeup, especially if it is heavy or you eyes will suffer the next day!
