Do You Need An Eyelash Grower?

Using Eyelash Grower Serum

Don’t you just think it’s so unfair that Great Uncle Fred has been blessed with those long, thick eyelashes that we would give our eye teeth for! However, everyone is different and if you lose your eyelashes either through pulling them, illness or accident then you are likely to want to find an eyelash grower that works, and fast.

First, a little about eyelash loss. One thing you should remember is that like the hair on your head, your eyelashes will fall out regularly but they will also replace themselves over four to eight weeks (longer if they have suffered a lot of damage). If you wear contact lenses eyelash loss will usually be greater. As people age, this process slows considerably and your eyelashes will never be as full as they were when you were younger. If you haven’t already tried an eyelash growth serum, then maybe this is a good time to do it.

Other things that affect eyelash growth apart from pulling them, is rubbing, curling, cleaning so you need to be careful and keep your eyelashes healthy. Those who suffer from an underperforming thyroid gland are also likely to lose small clumps of eyelashes.

There are a few things you can do and the most convenient is probably a really good mascara that is designed to lengthen and thicken the lashes you have. However, such mascaras can be harder to remove and make even more eyelashes fall out in the process. Therefore, greater care must be taken when cleaning the eyes. You could also use fake eyelashes but these need to be glued into place along the eyelash line so again, when you take them off there is a possibility that you may pull out your own eyelashes. Eyelash extensions can also be used and this is where individual lashes are glued next to your own. This process can be expensive and if your problem is habitual eyelash pulling, or eye rubbing, it may not solve your problem. You could also consider eyelash implants, but this isn’t for the faint hearted and is prohibitively expensive! I prefer to find out how to get long eyelashes naturally.

Now let’s look at eyelash grower serums. Such products normally include Bimatoprost or Latanoprost that of course are not so natural! They are safe to use providing you don’t over use the product in the belief that it may help the lashes grow even quicker. Applying the eyelash grower serum close to the root will see a difference in just two to four weeks on average.

Examples of an eyelash grower serum include Idol Lash, RapidLash and LiLash. Elsewhere on this site you will find eyelash grower reviews.

Important ….. If you live in the UK, we still recommend the following eyelash grower; Idol Lash or visit our UK site at www.eyelashgrower.co.uk for more information.

Need To Improve Your Eyelashes? – Extensions Could Be The Answer

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Do you need to improve the look of your eyelashes? Extensions are one way forward. In a similar way to hair extensions, eyelashes extensions lengthen and improve the appearance of your natural eyelashes. They differ from “false” eyelashes in that they are applied to individual lashes rather than being glued as a preformed strip to the eyelash line.

Eyelash extensions are synthetic polyester threads of various lengths, thickness and colors that are attached to individual lashes using surgical grade glue. Eyelash extensions should be applied by professionals (estheticians); this is not a job for inexperienced amateurs and by law in the US, practioners have to be fully qualified.

When applied properly, the process will take 90 to 120 minutes to place anything up to 80 lashes to each eye. Your extensions will last from 2 to 8 months and this is dependent on the cycle of hair growth at the time of application.

It’s important to let the glue dry properly before exposing the extensions to steam or heat that may melt the glue before it sets. Placement has to be 1.5 mm away from your eyelid. If they are too close, that’s when they may start to bother you.

As the extensions are glued onto the natural eyelash, they are also shed, along with the natural growth cycle of an eyelash.

Where false lashes may fall off, you can happily can sleep, shower and workout when wearing lash extensions. To maintain your lash extensions, they should be kept conditioned with special cleaning pads and combed through once a day.

On average, eyelash extensions cost between $200 and $500.

Lilash Purified Eyelash Growth Stimulator

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Please see final comment below before clicking on any links!

Lilash Eyelash Growth Stimulator is probably one of the better known eyelash grower serums. It has been around for some time and has now been developed and the product range increased. as with Idol Lash, the product is applied to the eyelid but unlike Idol Lash you can apply day or evening.

However, it is advised NOT to apply the serum to the lower lashes.

LiLash is special blend of peptides, botanicals and vitamins, which helps to promote hair and eyelash growth and strengthening while protecting against the harmful environmental pollutant damages.

With regular application of the Lilash eyelash growth stimulator, lashes will appear thicker and longer in as little as two weeks.

This product can be found on the Lilash website but this is not the cheapest supplier (see below), and we have been unable to find any freebie offers. However, one tube will last you around 5 months.  Here are a few of the reviews for the Lilash eyelash growth stimulator ………..

“Actually, it is kinda amazing. I had ZERO lashes before trying this product. (Bald eyes from a plucking problem)! Someone told me to give this stuff a shot, even though it says, ‘MAY NOT PROMOTE EYELASH GROWTH.’ In 2 weeks, my eyelashes are sprouting up again. Hmmmmmmmm. Now, I just need the will-power to KEEP THEM THERE! Thanks again! – Linda

“I had an extension disaster and all my eyelashes fell out. It was awful. I started using LiLash and very quickly within weeks all my eyelashes grew back super long, like I had extensions, but my own lashes and way less expensive. It’s true, a little really does go a long way.” Olivia, Corte Madera, CA

“My office has been selling Lilash for months now. The feedback that my staff has been getting from the patients has been excellent. Clearly the technology in LILASH works to create longer and fuller eyelashes. We sold another eyelash conditioner previously but many of the patients complained it irritated their eyes. This doesn’t seem to happen with LILASH. Congratulations on a winner.” Charles Crutchfield, M.D., Board Certified Dermatologist; Eagan, Minnesota

PS you may find LiLash Purified Eyelash Stimulator a bit cheaper here, although I’m not sure if buying it direct from Lilash gives you a bigger container than .8 oz – check back while I await a response from them!

OK – update time. LiLash have said that only products purchased from their own site carry the guarantee. If you buy from their site, it is the same size container but you will have their guarantee that it will work etc. It’s up to you what you do, but you will be paying a premium for that guarantee. LiLash Purified Eyelash Stimulator is cheaper here than on the graphic links on this site. I intend to change all other links to the cheapest option.
