Using Eyelash Grower Serum

Don’t you just think it’s so unfair that Great Uncle Fred has been blessed with those long, thick eyelashes that we would give our eye teeth for! However, everyone is different and if you lose your eyelashes either through pulling them, illness or accident then you are likely to want to find an eyelash grower that works, and fast.

First, a little about eyelash loss. One thing you should remember is that like the hair on your head, your eyelashes will fall out regularly but they will also replace themselves over four to eight weeks (longer if they have suffered a lot of damage). If you wear contact lenses eyelash loss will usually be greater. As people age, this process slows considerably and your eyelashes will never be as full as they were when you were younger. If you haven’t already tried an eyelash growth serum, then maybe this is a good time to do it.

Other things that affect eyelash growth apart from pulling them, is rubbing, curling, cleaning so you need to be careful and keep your eyelashes healthy. Those who suffer from an underperforming thyroid gland are also likely to lose small clumps of eyelashes.

There are a few things you can do and the most convenient is probably a really good mascara that is designed to lengthen and thicken the lashes you have. However, such mascaras can be harder to remove and make even more eyelashes fall out in the process. Therefore, greater care must be taken when cleaning the eyes. You could also use fake eyelashes but these need to be glued into place along the eyelash line so again, when you take them off there is a possibility that you may pull out your own eyelashes. Eyelash extensions can also be used and this is where individual lashes are glued next to your own. This process can be expensive and if your problem is habitual eyelash pulling, or eye rubbing, it may not solve your problem. You could also consider eyelash implants, but this isn’t for the faint hearted and is prohibitively expensive! I prefer to find out how to get long eyelashes naturally.

Now let’s look at eyelash grower serums. Such products normally include Bimatoprost or Latanoprost that of course are not so natural! They are safe to use providing you don’t over use the product in the belief that it may help the lashes grow even quicker. Applying the eyelash grower serum close to the root will see a difference in just two to four weeks on average.

Examples of an eyelash grower serum include Idol Lash, RapidLash and LiLash. Elsewhere on this site you will find eyelash grower reviews.

Important ….. If you live in the UK, we still recommend the following eyelash grower; Idol Lash or visit our UK site at www.eyelashgrower.co.uk for more information.

Eyelash Implants

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Getting eyelash implants is just one of your available options if you want to grow your eyelashes on a more lasting basis. Maybe you don’t want to try eyelash serums, volumising mascaras, or eyelash extensions (also known as semi-permanent extensions), then eyelash implants may be for you.

Although not primarily developed as a cosmetic procedure, surgery for eyelash implants has quickly advanced and is now a highly profitable market.

The surgery for eyelash implants is performed under a local anaesthetic so you won’t actually feel any pain, but you will obviously be very aware of the surgeon being close to the eye. This may not be to bad though as eye shields are normally used to protect the eye from any possible damage. The whole procedure takes around one or two hours, but this depends on the number of implants you require. Generally, around 30 – 60 hair follicles are removed from the back of the head or the neck and planted into the upper lash area. For a few people, this type of procedure may feel like the physician is invading their personal space and make them feel a little uneasy.

Please note that you will need a up to a week to recover from this procedure, and that you should always follow the doctor’s recommendations regarding aftercare. Don’t be alarmed if some of the eyelash implants drop out after three or four weeks, this is perfectly normal and they will grow back.

Do not expect instant results, as you will not get them. Implants act like the hair on your head and will take 12 to 24 weeks for you to detect much difference. One thing to note though, if the hair is coming from your scalp, then your new lashes will grow faster than your natural eyelashes and will need trimming. It is also likely that your new implants will behave in the same tendencies as when they were in your scalp. That is, if you have coarse curly hair, you will could need to straighten them. Your doctor should discuss this possibility with you and what you can to do about it.

If all this sounds too much, you could think about having eyelash extensions instead, as these are really quite effective nowadays. Synthetic lashes are just glued to your individual lashes through a painless procedure and you will find that they are resistant to water, sun, sweat or tears. Avoid water for the first two hours after the procedure and waterproof mascara at all times as this may pull the lashes off as it bonds with the natural lashes. The downside of extensions is that they only last for about two months before you will need to have them replaced.

Although eyelash implants are a good way to improve the look of your eyes, having this procedure should not be considered lightly. It is after all a type of transplant surgery and is therefore expensive and does have certain risks. Do consider trying other avenues before you go down this particular avenue.

Is Idol Lash The Best Eyelash Grower Serum?

Friday, May 21st, 2010

OK, so I like this product and here is a quick review.

Idol Lash is a unique eyelash grower in serum form that will help you achieve longer and denser eyelashes in a matter of weeks. Applied like a liquid eyeliner once a day within a couple of weeks you should notice that your eyelashes are much fuller and longer!

It is claimed that despite any brittleness or conditon of your existing eyelashes that the unique formula will work. Not only does it improve the density and length, it will also darken the lashes. The serum can also be used while you have eyelash extensions.

Clinical trials were carried out to test Idol Lash eyelash grower using a panel of people aged between 24 and 82 years of age. The product was applied as per instructions (i.e. once nightly using an eyeliner brush to the root of the lashes) for two weeks. Changes to eyelash length was measured using SigmaScan software (automatic image scanning software).

Results showed that eyelash density was increased by up to 82% in 2 to 4 weeks and a 25% increase in length.

Idol Lash claims to be the least irritating of all eyelash grower products and to be safe for the most sensitive eyes.

Testimonials include, “Idol Lash is so easy to use! It’s just like my regular eyeliner except now my lashes are not only darker, but thicker, longer and prettier as well. I just can’t say enough about how much I love it!”
